I want you to have the connection you deserve.
I believe..
I see your life as living art and hold reverence and exquisite kindness for the journey that lead you to this moment. There is beauty everywhere, even in pain and anguish, loss and despair. I will hold the space for you (and your partner) to explore the unidentified, the unspoken, and the unfelt experiences that block genuine connection. I will hold the belief that you deserve comfort and care, even when it’s difficult to stand in your own presence. I have walked this path with the help of a trusted guide and I look forward to being a support for you to take these courageous steps that lead to a new way of seeing yourself and your relationship.
My Journey..to now
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Washington and Oregon. I work with both individuals and couples. I attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration of Couples and Family Therapy in 2022 from the University of Colorado, Denver.
My early career was in corporate, public and personal finance as well as real estate acquisition and development. I eventually transitioned into human resources and worked on a team tasked with retention and development of personnel. My early career is a critical part of my journey and was gratifying in many ways. As I grew I decided to pursue my deeper ambitions, which involve the power of authenticity and vulnerability in the context of relationship. This matches my nature, which is warm and welcoming, and unafraid to confront when helpful to the client/s.
I am passionate about Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and continue to be a student. I work under the supervision of Carly Rubin, LMFT, who is EFT trained and I published a paper with Certified EFT Trainer and professor, Dr. Robert Allan. The publication is titled Conceptual and Application Considerations of EFT With White Heterosexual Working-Class Rural Males. I completed my first training, called EFT Externship, in 2019 and the ICEEFT approved advanced training, called EFT Core Skills, in 2021. I continue to stay informed of best practices by participating in consulting groups and counseling clients using an Emotionally Focused Therapeutic approach.
